One of the questions we get asked most before a booking is a simple one: which area should I stay in? Valencia is a compact city, but each neighbourhood has a distinct character, and the right choice depends a lot on whether you’re here for classic sightseeing, a few days of remote work, or to experience Las Fallas from the front row.
Arrancapins: walk everywhere in the historic centre
Arrancapins, in the Extramurs district, is a quiet residential neighbourhood just over a kilometre from the historic centre — the Silk Exchange and Plaza del Ayuntamiento are a 12-15 minute walk away. It has two metro stops 400 metres away (Plaça Espanya and Àngel Guimerà) and Estación del Norte 850 metres away, so getting there from the airport or by train without a car is straightforward.
This is what we recommend if your priority is walking to Valencia’s most photographed sights without paying centre-of-town prices. We have two twin apartments here, in the same building — a good option if you’re travelling as a larger group and want to stay close without relying on a single unit.

Monteolivete: right next to the City of Arts and Sciences
If Calatrava’s architecture, the Oceanogràfic, or a stroll through the Turia Gardens are more your thing, the Monteolivete apartment is in a different league: the City of Arts and Sciences complex is an 18-minute walk away, and the Fallas Museum — home to each year’s pardoned fallas figures, a gem not widely known outside Valencia — is literally 100 metres away.
It’s a somewhat quieter, less touristy neighbourhood than the centre, but very well connected on foot to the Turia Gardens, which take you walking through much of the city.

In short
If you want to be as close as possible to the historic centre and get around entirely on foot, Arrancapins is your area. If you prefer modern architecture, the Oceanogràfic, and a somewhat calmer setting, Monteolivete fits better.
